The 2007 science fair will be the 46th annual Calgary Youth Science Fair. Each year about 1000 students from schools in and around Calgary gather to take part in Canada's largest science fair. The 2007 fair will be held at the Big Four building on the Stampede Grounds from March 14-17.
The science fair is organized by the Calgary Youth Science Fair Society to encourage and promote ongoing interest in science. The Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers representing the business, scientific, and education communities of Calgary. The mission of the Calgary Youth Science Fair Society is "to promote an appreciation for scientific principles and method in the youth of Calgary by means of an annual science competition".
The fair is open to students in grades 5 through 12. Registration is normally done through a science fair coordinator in each school. If a school is not entering the fair, then a parent has the option of entering their child themselves.
The Calgary Youth Science Fair Society is affiliated with, and operates under the direction of Youth Science Foundation Canada (YSF).
