Community Sponsorship
BRIAN BARKER RACING - GET TO KNOW OUR TEAM
OUR MISSION
To win races. Now that we have several trophies and 2 plaques, the team decided we just
want to have some more for our shelf and for pink bunny to take care of, (our official
unofficial mascot).
OUR HISTORY
Barker Racing began 1 year after Race City Speedway opened. Our first Race Car was a
White Dodge Fury, progressing to a Buick Lasabre and then into the Camero (which we
still use in other races such as bommers and out of town events), 2004 brought us into
the Malibu which is the current car we are racing. Although our Cars and colours have
changed (Even a pink: car for the Mothers Day Enduro) the spirit of the team and the
commitment to the sport has not. Our team has had many opportunities for celebration,
and a few that weren't (such as when our Race Car, Trailer (the second one to be a
victim) and the Truck were all stolen the day before the last race of the year 2003. It has
not stopped us our commitment to the sport is evident in all that we do. We have raced in
Rain, Snow and even Hail with one goal in mind bringing home a trophy. The racing
relationship at the track is one of partnership and friendship, although we race against
each other in the Pitts we're all one team each helping the other with whatever is needed.
This is what makes racing what it is, the only sport where all the teams are just as
important as the individual car; in our case #14. Black and yellow are our current colours
and they certainly attract a great deal of attention, just the way we like it for our sponsors.
We have been talked about on Radio, TV and Newspapers throughout our Racing History
and we've even been in some good crashes that made it into the newspapers. We have
had many years of success and plan to continue in the future.
SPONSORSHIP
Sponsorship is an integral part of racing. Racing can become very expensive. There are
many items that need to be taken care of just to get out to the race. We start the season off
by getting the car and stripping it, rebuilding it and getting it ready for the season this
includes buying parts, tires, and fuel, then the painting begins, the use of many rolls of
duck tape (the secret method of keeping it all together) and yes then the lettering for all
the wonderful sponsors who have joined our team. Now the preparation has begun we
must get it to the track pay the entry fees, make sure you have a scorer and a pit crew, all
of which is separate admission to the track, and of course the drinks and food to keep the
crew on their toes. This is done every race and when you have 18 races a year it all adds
up. That's why we need sponsor help.
WHY SPONSOR US?
Sponsoring us provides several benefits. A presence in the racing business. Advertising
before, during and after every race. The Car, Driver and or crew can schedule special
appearances at your place of business for promotional purposes. You even get support
from us, the team members and crew. The visual impact of the race car speaks for itself
and its an eye catcher as the race car is transported to and from the track on an open
trailer. There is the possibility the car may be photographed and featured in the
newspapers as well as on TV. When you're our sponsor you join our team and you're visible
the entire race! The most important point is of course when we win you win.
BE A SPONSOR
We offer several sponsor options to suit your needs. They're not written in stone, so we
can customize your package to suit your specific needs. We take our sponsors seriously.
Without you, we would not be racing.
If you're interested in sponsoring our team please contact
Brian Barker at 403.620.3982 for details.
